The southwest coast of Portugal is a surfer’s paradise. The unbroken waves rolling in from the Atlantic are perfect for training surfing skills

Surf Lessons include: 1 day - 2 surf sessions (approx 1hr30 each), equipment (surfboard and wetsuit), surf insurance and transport to the best waves every day!

 

 

 

Surf etiquette Rules

1. The person first on the wave or cloest to the peak has the right of way n the wave.

2. Look right and left before yuo take off. Dont drop in on someone.

3. I you take off in front of someone, put out of the wave.

4. When paddling out look behind you before you jump of your board if cought in the impact zone.

5. Paddle aroung the soulder of the wave, not up through the middle, use the channels.

6. During a set, paddle out in the safest direction to avoid the rider on the wave. Make eye contact with the rider.

7. Dont always relay on your cord or leash to save you, It can break.

8. Know your limits. Dont go out in surf bigger then you can handle.

9. If you cause an accident, be sure to ask if the other surfer needs help.

10. Be courteous and respectful of others in the water.

Assistance: Life guard presence during bathing season.

ARRFANA: Sandy bottum. Serveral peaks along the beach, ideal for bathing and protected from winds but with some currrent. In the winter there is a regular presence at pro riders, at all sports.

MONTE CLERGIO: Exposed to summer winds, north shore, ideal for kite and an idea spot for beginners.

AMOREIRA: Peak of the entrance at the river, with lateral wind and current, , very regular especially with swell and SW wind.

AMADO: Sandy bottum. Several peaks along the beach, ideal for surfers with surf school experience.

BORDEIRA:  Exposed bo summers winds, north shore. Ideal for kite and good level wvae, regular presence of pro riders, but ideal for beginners.

MARTINHAL: sandy bottom. In the summer predominant and strong north wind. In the winter southern winds. Ideal for al lwind and sailing sports.

BALEIRA: Spot next to Sagres village, sandy bottom, accesible wave for all levels of practitioners.

MARETA: Protected from summerwinds, ideal for all swimmers. Some wave conditions have a southern swell

.

TONEL:  the most consistant of the Sagres beaches is generally pretty average. Lower tidel stages on the push rae better as is a W swell. It does not pick up as much swell as the west coatst to it is  popular place for beginners and the many local body boarders. Highly consistent often crowded currents and localism, tu the water is clean and amenites include shoers, life guard, body board and surf school surf shop and camping park in town.

BELICHE: The best beach in the Sagres area, with strong NW swell all year, with ocks and sandy bottom and also some isolated rocks. Strong wave beach type, good with offshore wind. For experienced practicioners. Wave height can reach 3 meters.

TELHEIRO: very consitant waves al lyear, with rocks and sandy bottom and also some isolted rocks. Strong wind. For experienced practitioners. Wave height can reach 3 meters.

PONTA RUIVA: Powerfull, classic and well konw pint break wave, withch can reach 3 meters and is very ling. Rocks and sandy bottom. Access to the beach is a bit difficult. Recommended for intermeiate or experienced surfers.

CASTELEJO: Sandy and rocky bottom. Several peaks along the beach, idealfor all swimmers and beach activities.

CORDOAMA: Protected from summer winds, good family and environment, ideal for all swimmers and beach activities with assistance during bathing season.

 

ZAVIAL: Sandy bottom, ideal for confiremd surders, very powerful waves, local hots do much preactiece here. Beginners sould avoid ti, a few miles away you have Ingrina spot, very good to develop and improve all evolution level riders. Assisted in the summer.

SALEMA: Proteced from summers winds., fishermans village and good family environment. Ideal for all bathers with assitance during bathing season.

MEIA PRAIA: Very extnsive ocean beach. Sany bottom, good for sunbathers, North/NW srong winds from May to September. Ideal for windsurf/Kitesurf practice, and for all levels of surfers with good access to water.

PRAIA DA LUZ: Rock bottom with good wave pointbreak at te end of the bay, which work best with swell and south or west winds. Intermediate to experienced surfers. Good tours araa fr SUP and kayak.

PORTO DO MOS: Rock bottom, with peak near the beach. Works with south or west swell. Intermediate to experienced surfers.
