Enjoy a day at the beach or exploring the remarkable historic sites in the area, and return to an oasis of calm for a cool shower and a glass of delicious local wine.

Share a meal cooked in the peace of your garden, or venture out to one of the many local restaurants and bars.
For quieter evenings and undisturbed relaxation, you'll find a selection of board games, and books in several languages.

A little about the area

Lagos is a fantastic town in the western Algarve that can certainly be enjoyed by all age groups. The older part of Lagos is still circled by the city walls that were constructed during the 16th century. It is certainly full of history, but it is also a vibrant town with lots going on.

Lagos has some stunning views, it has to be said! From the Ponte da Piedade (in front of the lighthouse) you get a fantastic view of the sweeping sands of Lagos bay with the Monchique hills as a backdrop, and you can see all the way to Sagres to the West and past Albufeira to the east.

Vila do Bispo is a small town with older, typical Algarvian houses clustered around the 16th century church. It's set in Costa Vicentina National Park, and close to the Park de Floresta tennis and golf course.

Praia da Luz is equally charming, but the perfect sheltered beach is a big draw for families.

Our Praia da Luz 3-bedroom cottage is close to the beach; the Vila do Bispo properties are located close together in the centre of the village, just two minutes from the local produce market. The area's stunning unspoilt beaches can be reached in a few minute's by car.

When to come

The Algarve is an all year round holiday destination.

If you're not tied to the school holidays, the spring and autumn months are a lovely time to be here.

Even December and January can be warm and sunny although the evenings are often chilly. Not all the restaurants and bars stay open in winter, but there is still plenty of choice, and a warm welcome.
